Search

Search
 
The search functionality works with search profiles and criteria, that can be saved and shared.
Profiles can be either private or public.
Private profiles can be set by the user, and will be available only for himself.
Public profiles can be set by a list of granted users (by administrator), and will be available for all company users.
Public profiles can not be edited by other users, but can be copied to a new private profile for modification.

Search criteria / Input profile

The list of selected criteria / values, are one Input profile.
One input profile is :
  • a list of products
  • a hierarchy element
  • a list of part data with values
  • a list of part properties with values
  • a list of product properties with values
The input profile can be saved for the user for a later use (and naming it).

Current input profile

2. Current input profile
The default current input profile is "Default profile".
It's a pre-defined profile with a list of criteria, set by administrator.
Switching input profiles will refresh the input criteria list. Both private and public input profiles can be selected.

Edit input profile

This button is available only if user is granted to edit the current selected profile (either private or public with granted access).
It will open the Property Picker dialog, to select a list of criteria.

Copy the current profile

4. Copy the current profile
This button will popup an dialog to enter a name for the new input profile name.
If granted, an additional checkbox option is available whether the new profile should be private only or public.

Delete input profile

5. Delete input profile
This button is available only for private input profile, or public profiles if the user is granted by administrator.
It allow to delete the current selected profile. A confirmation is needed.

Reset

Clear the current profile and restore the default one, set by administrator.

Clear fields

7. Clear fields
Sets all input values to blank, for a clean and empty search criteria list.

List of products to search

8. List of products to search
Use the "select" button to open the Data Picker dialog and select among the product list.
If some products are selected, the search will focus only on those products. If none is selected, it will search among all products (same as all selected).

Search only a part/system

9. Search only a part/system
Use the "select" button to open the Data Picker dialog and select a hierarchy element among the hierarchy tree.
If a hierarchy element is selected, only this element will be shown in results. The search will retrieve all this element which have inner parts matching the input criteria.
(ex: Picking "Headrestraint" will show headrestraints systems having at least one part matching criteria below)

Pick one or more systems to restrict the search among thoses systems, instead of the whole hierarchy.

The list of selected criteria, using the Property Picker dialog (edit button above), is shown here.
Each criteria can be restricted to one or a list of values, depending on criteria operator (=, between, values)
When "values" operator is selected, a button "select" is available to open the Data Picker dialog and choose one or more values.

Result criteria / Output profile

12. Result criteria / Output profile
The list of selected criteria are one Output profile.
One output profile is :
  • a list of part data with values
  • a list of part properties with values
  • a list of product properties with values
  • a list of views (pictures)
The output profile is a list of criteria which will be shown as columns in the results table.
In the screenshot above, the output profile is a default output profile (defined by administrator), which contains a picture (Front view), the product model year and part weight.
The output profile can be saved for the user for a later re-use (by naming it).

Current output profile

13. Current output profile
The default current output profile is "Default profile".
It's a pre-defined profile with a list of criteria, set by administrator.
Switching output profiles clear the results table in order to show it with different columns. Both private and public output profiles can be selected.

Output profile actions

14. Output profile actions
Same as input profile edit / save as / delete.
The "Edit" button is available for private and public profiles only if the user is granted. It opens the Property Picker dialog to select a list of criteria to display as columns in the result table.
The "Copy" button will create a copy of the current output profile.
The "Delete" button is for deleting the current profile. A confirmation is needed.
The "Reset to default" button will replace the current criteria and values by the default one that the administrator has setup.

Search products

15. Search products
This button will search the database using the selected input criteria and values.
The results are a list of products having at least one matching part, in a result table, with output criteria as columns.
Please note that, having products as results will show only products informations in results (eg: brand, model, product information and product properties).
Other information (part information, part properties, pictures) which are related to parts, will not be shown here but in "Search parts" results.

16. Search parts
This button will search the database using the input profile criteria and values, and display the results in a table with output profile criterias as columns.

Search fasteners

17. Search fasteners
This button will search the database for fasteners matching the selected criteria elements and values.
If fastener type is selected as output column, a fastener picture column is added in the results table.

The search results are displayed in a table, with output criteria as columns.

Paging system

19. Paging system
Since the whole database is searched, a lot of results can be found.
A paging system shows the total records found, and links to switch between pages:
 
The default records per page is 100 (set by administrator).
